AsiaPac improves customer service with
Celesta’s solutions
Singapore & Oulu, Finland – September 15, 2004
September 15,
2004 – AsiaPac Distribution
Pte Ltd (Singapore) uses Celesta’s wireless enterprise solution to
improve the level of customer service in their field operations.
With the solution AsiaPac’s field service engineers can stay
connected with the company’s back-end system directly from the
field. This way the engineers have the latest information at their
disposal all the time and can provide their customers better and
quicker service cost-efficiently.
AsiaPac co-operates with the leading technology providers and
offers networking, data storage and protection, mobile computing
and IT security products and services. As a distributor of Fujitsu
and other well-known brands, the company also has an authorised
service centre. In addition to enhancing their own customer service
with Celesta’s solution, AsiaPac also partners with Celesta to
promote wireless enterprise solutions.
CELESTA mBusiness Platform is a client/server-based wireless
enterprise solution that delivers optimised online and offline data
communications and convenient wireless management. It provides
AsiaPac’s field engineers in the Customer Care Centre with
connectivity to the company’s back-end systems (Customer Services
Information Systems) from their Nokia 9210i Communicators and
Pocket PC XDA O2 devices. AsiaPac has used Celesta’s solution since
January, and the results and experiences have been very impressive.
“Celesta’s solution is an essential tool for improving
communications in field service”, reports AsiaPac’s Solutions
Manager, Mr. Htay Win Naing. “The solution has made a huge impact
on our response times. Getting constant updates on new service
assignments directly in the field means quicker responses, more
effective customer service and higher customer satisfaction”, Mr.
Naing concludes.
Celesta’s wireless solution helps AsiaPac to uphold their company
motto: “Do it right the first time, on time, everytime”.
“Professionalism is one of our hallmarks”, states Mr. Edwin Lim,
Director of Technical Services. “As a regional powerhouse noted for
our in-house capabilities and services we wanted to provide our
customer in the Customer Care Centre with the best possible
service. This is why we chose Celesta”, Mr. Lim concludes. “With
Celesta’s solution AsiaPac can significantly decrease
administrative and field service costs. The most important benefit,
however, is the improved level of service the company can now
provide its customer”, states Mr. Hong Yan, Regional Sales Director
APAC, Celesta. “For us local partners are the key to global
business. In addition to welcoming AsiaPac to the growing number of
Celesta users, we are very exited about our partnership. With its
expertise, extensive customer base and excellent reputation in the
South-East Asian market, AsiaPac is an important addition to our
global partner network”, states Mr. Sakari Vaara, CEO, Celesta.

Celesta optimises field operations for
Dutch home care specialists
Oulu, Finland – August
20, 2004
August 20, 2004 – Celesta’s Dutch partner, BCIP bv, a
company focusing on service platforms for field service,
strengthens its co-operation with Celesta. BCIP has developed and
delivered a wireless enterprise solution for health care
specialists, who make home visits and, therefore, need the latest
information at their disposal. “Celesta’s solution can be easily
tailored to meet our needs, and it also enables us to quickly
launch new applications to the market”, states Product Manager
Richard Verhoef from BCIP.
BCIP focuses on developing and organising the field services of its
customers, who are mainly in the health care sector. Therefore,
logistic know-how is a must. “Thanks to the mobile networks, field
personnel can stay connected with the company’s back-office system
directly from the field”, states the founder of BCIP, Mr Paul
Noteboom. As the wireless enterprise solutions run on PDAs and
mobile phones, the field personnel do not have to input their data
from paper forms at the end of the day to the company’s back-office
system. Instead, the data can be sent wirelessly directly from the
field, and thus also processed quicker and without unnecessary
delays.
Also the personnel in the field have constant access to the latest
information. For example, in emergencies, a route plan, the latest
information on the patient’s status and a list of the given
medicines can be provided directly to the medical staff already on
the way to see the patient. After the home visit, the latest
information is sent from the wireless device directly to the
back-office system. “We offer our customers a complete process,
which eliminates double data entries and saves costs. The
efficiency of our customers has increased at least 15 per cents”,
Mr Noteboom continues.
“Celesta was one of the first companies in the market with a
solution for integrating mobile devices and business processes”, Mr
Noteboom reminisces. “Our co-operation has been successful: Celesta
provides a technically independent platform which enables easy
integration to the existing, in-house developed IT solutions”,
states Product Manager Richard Verhoef. An additional advantage for
BCIP is also that with Celesta the existing applications can be
utilised further without large, extra costs.
The Celesta solution has worked well and been received fine among
the users. “Using the system is easy and it does not require any
deeper knowledge of the underlying technology”, praises Mr Verhoef.
With Celesta’s solution, the mobile devices can also be chosen
freely: the solution supports both Symbian OS and Microsoft Pocket
PC operating systems.
The data security on the mobile devices is taken care of with a
special function, which can be activated via SMS by BCIP. With this
functionality the critical information located in the mobile device
cannot get into the wrong hands.
The solution is used by Dutch organisations concentrated on the
home care of the elderly and the sick, for example, the Salvation
Army in Amsterdam or Kennemer Care. The solution is used, for
example, for personnel and schedule planning, taking care of
medicine supplies, and reporting daily visits.
A
member of E.ON group, Enseco GmbH, optimises customer service with
Celesta’s wireless enterprise solutions
Oulu, Finland – June 10,
2004
Celesta mBusiness Ltd, a member of CCC Group, has signed a contract
on delivering wireless enterprise solutions based on Celesta’s
mBusiness platform to the German Enseco GmbH, a member of E.ON
group. “By the end of 2004 all of our 300 people working in the
field will start using a hand-held device and Celesta’s solutions”,
announces Mr Alois Weig, Managing Director of Enseco. The delivery
contains five different applications: metering, servicing, debt
collection, weekly reports and travelling expenses. The delivery is
managed by Celesta mBusiness Ltd’s German subsidiary, Celesta
Germany GmbH.
In the future Enseco’s field representatives can enter the meter
readings and data directly into their hand-held devices while
visiting the end customers. After the job has been finished, the
data are sent wirelessly to Enseco’s computing centre. “Celesta’s
wireless solutions provide us a complete package from reading
meters at the end customers up to using the data as the basis for
creating invoices. Now there are no more information breaks at any
point. The solutions can also be used for improving debt collection
and meter changing operations”, Mr Weig continues.
With Celesta’s software platform the applications running on
hand-held devices can be easily integrated into Enseco’s IT
environment. Thanks to the platform, data can be transferred
securely and reliably between the hand-held devices in the field
and Enseco’s Agresso ERP and project management system. “The jobs
are sent regularly from the field. Therefore, we always have the
latest information of the current situation in the field. As the
system also enables us to optimise the routes of our field staff,
we can increase our field service efficiency even more”, Mr Weig
praises.
A possibility for extensive on-site validity checks is another
improvement. Celesta’s solutions can be used, for example, for
synchronising the previous and current meter readings. Incorrect
meter readings can be corrected directly on-site. “With Celesta’s
solutions we can deliver our customers in the public utilities and
power companies sector exact data on a daily basis, and without
compromising data security”, describes Mr Weig Celesta’s
competitive advantages compared to the competitors.
“The advantages of Celesta’s mBusiness platform are the easy-to-use
tools, with which we can also in the future develop the
applications further ourselves without the help of expensive
software specialists. As an innovative service provider we put very
much importance on being able to provide our customers the best
possible solutions using the latest technologies”, Mr Weig explains
the reasons behind choosing Celesta. Another advantage is the
freedom of choice regarding the hand-held devices. “Regarding the
devices, Celesta’s solutions are not restricted to any, specific
operating system. The applications run on all types of devices, and
are thus reliable also in the future”, Mr Weig continues.
In addition to improved customer service, the Celesta solution
improves also the workforce management of Enseco. Weekly reports
and travel expenses accounts can also be sent wirelessly to the
computing centre in Munich and processed there electronically.
According to Mr Weig, this will add up to at least 10% savings in
administrative costs.

Celesta and Andaira
provide in Spain a mobile security and safety solution for 1,000
users on Nokia Series 60 Platform
Oulu, Finland – October
24, 2003
Madrid, Spain & Oulu, Finland – October 24, 2003
The Spanish security services company, Grupo Ombuds starts using
Celesta’s mBusiness solution on Nokia 3650 devices. The company is
one of the leading providers of security and safety services in
Spain. Grupo Ombuds’ customers include the Ministry of the
Interior, the Basque Government, public administration and
financial institutes. With a total of 1,000 users, this is
Celesta’s first major sale for the Nokia Series 60 Platform. The
mBusiness solution is provided by Celesta’s Spanish distribution
and integration partner, Andaira Technology S.L.
Mr. Ángel Cobo Fernández, the technical director of Grupo Ombuds
comments: “For us this is only the beginning. The flexibility of
Celesta’s mBusiness solutions enables us to implement many more
improvements in our processes. As practically all of our resources
are in the field, we plan to utilise the possibilities of Celesta’s
solutions to the fullest.” Mr Fernández continues: “Also platforms
and operators can be changed and new types of terminals introduced
without major modifications to the existing solutions and
back-office systems.”
Mr. Eduardo Fernandez, the Business Applications Manager of Nokia
Spain states: “Celesta's solution combined with Andaira's expertise
in integration and mobility is one of the best examples of how the
actual mobile technology implemented in current Nokia phones can
help to improve and optimize corporate processes. Series 60
platform, integrated into an affordable, widely available,
Symbian-operated Nokia 3650, forms the basis for integrating
mobility into many possible corporate processes.”
Mr. Rafael Cediel Hernández, the Managing Director of Andaira
Technology S.L. states: “This is a major breakthrough in the
security sector in Spain with Celesta. Combined with the large
number of users, Grupo Ombuds is an important reference, which
highlights the solution’s reliability, expandability and
applicability to all organisations with a large mobile
workforce.”
Mr. Sakari Vaara, the Managing Director of Celesta comments: “I am
confident that Grupo Ombuds gains a true competitive edge and quick
ROI with our mobile security solution which is provided by our
dedicated partner, Andaira. Grupo Ombuds is among those visionary
companies in Europe, who are improving their mission critical
operations in the field with the latest mobile technology such as
Nokia’s 3650 phones.”
Before mobilising their service processes, Grupo Ombuds relied on a
beeper-based system and voice communications. The specialists
filled in paper documents on their assignments and communicated
with the agencies by phoning a call center. The paper documents
were later scanned to the company’s proprietary back-office
system.
Celesta’s mobile security and safety solution operating on Nokia
3650 devices is increasing the quality of customer service by
improving communications and shortening the response times between
the security specialists in the field and the agencies. The
solution is also eliminating double data entries and decreasing
errors as the reports from the field are sent directly to the
back-office system.
During November 2003 Grupo Ombuds is starting a pilot project with
50 users. The first roll-out phase includes developing and testing
the mBusiness solution and increasing the number of users up to
840. The plan is to carry out this first phase in two months. By
the end of January 2004, the company expects to roll out the
solution to an additional 160 users.

Falck
Securitas A/S opts for mBusiness
25th June, 2003
Madrid,
Spain & Oulu, Finland – Jun 25, 2003 Oulu,
Finland – June 25, 2003 – The
Danish Falck Securitas A/S chose Celesta’s mBusiness solution to
turn their dispatching and reporting processes mobile. Falck
Securitas is Denmark’s largest company providing security services
to the public and private sectors and to corporations. The Celesta
mBusiness solution was provided by Celesta’s Danish partner, SCR
Consulting A/S. “Falck Securitas has very high standards of
requirements. We are proud to be the chosen vendor of a mission
critical system in Falck Securitas’ core business”, says Mr. Hans
Beyer from SCR Consulting.
CELESTA mBusiness Platform is a client/server-based solution that
delivers optimized online and offline data communications and
convenient wireless management. It provides 250 Falck’s field
technicians in the Alarm Service Division with connectivity to the
company’s back-end systems (SAP and proprietary systems) from their
Nokia 9210 Communicators and iPAQ PocketPC devices. At the moment,
the solution is under configuration and testing. “We wanted to
modernize our dispatching and reporting operations. Our objective
was to tune the workflow in order to better meet the needs of our
customers and to save time and money while doing it”, says Division
Manager Lars K. Jørgensen from Falck Securitas.
Before the introduction of Celesta’s mBusiness solution the work
orders were dispatched by phone or fax. The technicians had to do
their weekly reports on paper. Today when a customer calls, the
work order is created in the back-end systems and then sent
wirelessly to the right field technician’s mobile device overnight.
When the technicians start work, they immediately know what their
assignments and schedule are for the day. Ad hoc work orders are
sent and acknowledged right away. With the customised Celesta
mBusiness application on their mobile devices the field technicians
can also send work reports wirelessly to the back-end system after
they have finished the work order. These reports include job types,
possible special circumstances, actions taken, etc. In other words,
all the data needed for invoicing the customer. In the future Falck
Securitas also plans to keep the stationary stocks and the stocks
in the technicians’ vans up-to-date with wireless
communications.
“We are pleased to add Falck Securitas to the ever-increasing group
of Celesta users. Falck Securitas with its superior know-how of
security services is yet another good example of how CELESTA
mBusiness Platform is suited for all organisations who want to
manage their workflow and increase productivity”, states Mr. Joni
Väänänen, Celesta’s Account Manager for Scandinavia.
